Low-voltage switchgears are switchboards that power several consumers from one or two power sources. In addition, they perform line protection against overloads and short circuits.
Main types of switchboards:
AC switchboards - designed to distribute AC voltage 220/380 V 50 Hz to consumer groups and to protect against overloads and abnormal situations. Used in industrial facilities, power plants, lighting systems.
DC switchboards - are designed to distribute the DC voltage from the power source to consumers, with protection of each output against overloads and short circuits using circuit breakers.
