At the professional level, equipment for the distribution and switching of electrical energy is usually divided into two main groups:
- high-voltage equipment
- low-voltage equipment
The low-voltage group includes any electrical equipment with an operating voltage of up to 1000 Volts.
High-voltage equipment is a special type of electrical devices and mechanisms that perform switching, conversion, and distribution of electricity with a high voltage value above 1000 volts. Some such equipment is used to verify the electrical strength of electrical power equipment.
