High-voltage equipment
High-voltage equipment is a special type of electrical devices and mechanisms that perform switching, conversion, and distribution of electricity with a high voltage value above 1000 volts. Some such equipment is used to verify the electrical strength of electrical power equipment.
All high-voltage equipment can be divided into two main groups:
- High voltage electricity sources. These are all kinds of electric power generators, power plants operating according to different principles (hydro, as well as thermal conversion).
- Distribution substations serving for the delivery and distribution of voltage between consumers, as well as changes in its value. Also included in this group are electrical machines operating at voltages above 1000 volts.
